How is Immersive Workspaces™ different from other collaboration solutions?Most collaboration solutions are comprised of a series of flat, 2-D applications. In contrast, Immersive Workspaces incorporates a rich, 3-D campus-like environment with a set of tightly integrated web-based applications. With Immersive Workspaces you can also seamlessly upload and integrate real world content. The 3-D environment gives participants a space to share, explore and engage, allowing them to enjoy the benefits usually delivered only by ‘in-person’ meetings, while the web-based system serves as a 2-D portal where participants can report, control and track collaboration in the virtual world. What are the system requirements for Immersive Workspaces?You will need a PC or Mac (running Windows XP, Vista or Mac OS X) with a web-browser, the Second Life viewer software and, optionally, our ‘Pebblescope’ screen sharing software. The hardware should also be capable of 3-D graphics. We are working closely with Linden Lab on a private network solution of the Second Life client. We're working on a beta version in the OpenSim, although until we're fully satisfied with its stability and able to offer an SLA, we will not be releasing a version on this platform. What is the pricing structure of Immersive Workspaces? We are unable to disclose pricing via the website, however, our solution is based on an annual license model. Our pricing also includes the costs associated with the relevant platform provider’s charges and support. We’d be happy to talk through this in more detail with you, so simply get in touch with us. How many users will Immersive Workspaces allow?The web portion of the Immersive Workspaces solution is capable of supporting a very large number of users. Currently, the 3-D space itself supports about 50-70 concurrent users per region. Additional regions can be easily added when the number of concurrent users grows – a scalable solution for when you need more space. What support/training options are available for Immersive Workspaces?The annual license fee includes online support and we also offer training sessions in the 3-D space or in person. How have you made the solution private and secure?Written in the Python programming language, using the Django web framework. Immersive Workspaces is hosted on one or more virtual private servers (root-servers) provided by GANDI SAS. Virtualization is based on Xen technology and virtual machines are completely separate from each other. Our media streaming technology is encrypted.
